FHT Structure


The FHT's President is Jennifer Wayte.

Never one to take the easy options in life Jennifer's career has spanned some 30 years! During that time, let's just say she has tried pretty much everything involved with complementary therapies and has no plans to stop that now!

She is qualified to advanced and fellowship level in over 20 disciplines including; Sports Massage, Sports Therapy, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head, Infant Massage, Reiki Master Teacher, the list goes on......

Jennifer is very passionate about teaching complementary therapy, to impart her knowledge and experience on others. She has a Cert Ed plus an Assessor and Verifier qualification and has won many prestigious awards including a Local European Teaching Award for services to students. More>>>




FHT Council Structure

The structure of FHT has grown and developed as the therapy industry has developed and changed. In order to represent all our members equitably the FHT Governing Council overseas the following six complementary, holistic beauty and sports councils: 

  • IFHB  -   International Federation of Health & Beauty Therapists
  • ICHT  -   International Council of Holistic Therapists 
  • PACT -  Professional Association of Clinical Therapists
  • HFST -  International Council of Health, Fitness & Sports Therapists 
  • ATL   -  Association of Therapy Lecturers
  • HBEF - Health & Beauty Employers Federation 

Full Members of the FHT may use the letters MFHT after their name. The councils are directed by the FHT Governing Council members comprising the President, 9 Vice-Presidents and the FHT Chief Executive. The FHT Governing Council is elected annually by the Members. Elected Officers receive no remuneration from Membership funds except for legitimate expenses.  Members may be represented by one or more councils, reflecting their multi-disciplinary therapy qualifications.

  
FHT's Chief Executive is John French

John French has the role of overseeing the organisation on a day-to-day basis. John has a wealth of experience and has a varied professional background, originally studying Leisure Managment and then going onto complete an MBA at Strathclyde University. John’s professional experience includes working in commercial management roles for ADT, Centrica, British Gas and the AA. His position with the FHT affords John the opportunity to combine his interest in health, sports and well being with his successful business experience. He also has close links with Business Link and is highly aware of the difficulties faced by small businesses and the self-employed. John states that this role will give him the opportunity to work closely with self-employed Members, helping their businesses to become more sustainable.
