The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) has a mission to be the driving force in maintaining high standards in therapy education and practice in the UK, and internationally. We are the largest professional association for therapists in the United Kingdom, with thousands of members specialising in everything from sports and remedial therapies to complementary healthcare and holistic beauty treatments. As a not-for-profit organisation run by therapists, for therapists, we are dedicated to advancing and protecting our members' interests and career progression.
We recognise the company benefits and opportunities of having a diverse therapy community of Members, Board/Committee members, staff and volunteers who value one another, and realise the contribution they can make to achieving our mission.
In our activities, FHT wants to ensure that equality of opportunity is provided to all our Members regardless of gender, identity, ethnicity, disability, age, sexuality, religion, or other factors such as socio-economic status and geographical location. We may collect information on these aspects to help us realise this aim, to promote our membership and to gain a better understanding of the wide-ranging disciplines practised by our members.
FHT as the largest professional association for therapists in the UK has a responsibility to its membership to promote equality of opportunity and an inclusive environment across its activities and processes. This includes but is not limited to, admission to membership where all professional and other associated standards have been met, educational activities and applications for awards and prizes, representation within published articles, magazines and digital copy, Local Support Group (LSG) meetings, other meetings, one-off events, and equal and appropriate treatment in employment.
This statement is intended to encourage and support our Members in continuing to develop a culture of inclusivity.
