As more services continue to move out of hospitals and into smaller primary care sites, the NHS has identified pockets of NHS buildings that are underused. NHS Open Space is a service that allows the flexible booking of available NHS rooms by health wellbeing and community services on a pay as you go basis. Eight different types of clinical and non-clinical space can be booked by the session or day and in some cases by the hour, up to twenty one months in advance.
The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) are on the list of Approved Accredited Bodies for NHS Open Space.
FHT Members who are complementary health practitioners may wish to use NHS Open Space to practise a variety of different appropriate modalities. If you've not used the service before, visit the NHS Open Space website to register your details. As part of the registration process you will be asked to enter the services you wish to provide such as "acupuncture" or "complementary therapies" from a drop down list. Under Governing body enter FHT and under Registration number your FHT membership number. Once approved you can start booking space online.
If you've already used the service, we'd love to know what your experience was like. Please contact us at marketing@fht.org.uk and let us know.
