Sargand is a highly experienced and dedicated musculoskeletal (MSK) clinician with a comprehensive background in dealing with musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedics, sports injuries, occupational health issues, and spine mechanical conditions. He holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, a Master’s in Advancing Physiotherapy Practice, and a certification in sports and exercise sciences. His expertise is further enhanced by specializations in human anatomy, qualification in public health practice, and quality improvement in healthcare, alongside numerous certifications in rehabilitation, exercise, health promotion, leadership, and management.
With a profound interest in academic research and evidence-based practice, he has conducted systematic reviews on the treatment and prevention of hamstring injuries in sports players and effective interventions for shoulder MSK conditions. Additionally, he has carried out a cross-sectional study on the knowledge of rehabilitation among hospital staff.
Sargand's professional journey spans both the public and private sectors, encompassing outpatient and inpatient departments where he has treated a diverse range of patients, supervised clinicians, taught medical students, and conducted awareness sessions.
Currently, he serves as a Senior Specialist MSK Clinician with the National Health Service (NHS), where he manages complex MSK cases, provides occupational health services, conducts clinical supervisions, participates in clinical audits, and drives service improvements. His commitment to advancing the field is reflected in his continuous involvement in research, teaching, and clinical practice.
