Myofascial release is a manipulation of the connective tissue (aka fascia) that restores freedom of movement between layers of soft tissue (skin, tendons, ligaments, muscles, muscle compartments and internal organs).
Over time the free sliding between the fascia layers is compromised as a consequence of inactivity, dehydration, inflammation, injuries or scar tissue formation and the build up of fascial adhesions will cause postural imbalances, inefficient movement strategies, loss of perception and pain.
